"Oregon, Penn State, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Auburn are my final five schools," Lattimore said. "That will not change. Those are my final five. Those are the schools that I just felt the most comfortable with the coaches and the players."
The 6-foot-0, 200 pound running back went on to break down each of his final five schools.
Oregon: "They made it because of the distance. I'm really interested in them. I just fell for them when I went out there for the 7-on-7 camp. I'm taking an official visit out there on October 31st when they play Southern Cal."
Penn State: "I had a good time on the visit to Penn State this weekend. I got to meet all the coaches and some of the players. They have a good combination of academics and football. The best thing was meeting Coach
Joe Paterno. He is very funny to talk too and had me laughing the whole time."
North Carolina: "They have a beautiful campus and are in a beautiful city. I like the offense they play. I have a good shot of going to the NFL if I played there. Coach
Butch Davis stands out the most."
Auburn: "I just felt comfortable when I visited Auburn. I really like the offense and I like how they plan to use me like
Darren McFadden. I talk to the coaches all the time and they run a similar offense to us."
South Carolina: "It's home. I definitely feel comfortable there. Coach
Eric Wolford,
Brad Lawing, and
Jay Graham. I like all those guys. It's a great place to go. They are putting more of an emphasis on the running game and that is big."
One school that a lot of people thought would make the list was Florida State. Marcus explains why they did not make the final five.
"I didn't really get a good vibe with the current players at Florida State. It's a great place though. I really like the coaches. I also didn't want to put my future in jeopardy with them on probation."
Lattimore has official visits set up to Oregon on Oct. 31 and Penn State on Oct. 10. He will take his other three officials after his season is over.
"I'm going to take in some games this year on unofficial visits as well. All of the schools are even right now. I do not have a leader. I still plan on waiting till the day before signing day to make a decision."
