Corey Robinson
South Carolina pulled Nick Allison out of North Carolina last year on the offensive line and is back in North Carolina again in the 2010 class. They stepped up and offered Corey Robinson (Havelock, N.C./Havelock) a few weeks ago. Robinson was at USC's lineman camp and spoke with TheBigSpur.com about the visit and about a currenty leader.

"(USC defensive line coach) Brad Lawing came by this Spring and checked me out," Robinson said. "He was telling me about their camp and wanted me to come. He had been looking at my film and said he was going to get the offensive line coach to look at it as well. Coach Lawing called me about three weeks ago and told me I had an offer and the written offer came in the mail a little later. He said he really liked my game tape."

Robinson measured in at 6-foot-7, 290 pounds at the USC lineman camp this past weekend. He talked about the lineman camp and about possibly his future position coach in college.

"I though I did pretty well," he said. "Some of the drills really helped me and I learned a lot. I liked (USC run game coordinator/offensive line coach) Eric Wolford a lot. He really gets you motivated. He calls you out in front of your teammates and that really gets you to perform well. Im use to it though because thats how my high school coach is as well. I spoke with Coach Wolford a little before camp and he just asked me if I was ready to play and said I looked good for my size."

Robinson also went on to talk about his recruiter, Brad Lawing.

"He talked to my mom and I before camp," Robinson said. "He told my mom that he wanted her to know that I had an offer on the table and anytime I was ready to commit, just let him know. He really wants what is best for me. He said to look at all my options and make the best decision for me. He is being patient with me."

South Carolina is Robinson's only offer right now. He is also getting interest from North Carolina, NC State, Duke, and East Carolina. He talked about what he likes about USC right now.

"I really didnt get to see to much on the visit since I was working out most of the time. I need to visit again and see the campus. I also want to come back for a game this Fall. I know they have Steve Spurrier and he is a great coach. They are in the SEC and thats the best conference in the nation. If you are in the SEC, then you have to be a good football school. I saw the stadium and it was really big. The weight room was real nice as well."

Robinson would also like to visit UNC, Duke, East Carolina, and NC State this summer but said that he needs to talk with his head coach and see what is best for him. He went on to talk about some important factors, a timetable on his decision, and a favorite.

"I would like to go somewhere thats going to win and has some good players. Im definitely going to decide before my season. It could be in a month or so. South Carolina would have to be my leader right now because of the offer."

What happens if someone else steps up with an offer?

"I would have to look at everybody equally but I would put South Carolina ahead because they offered me first. I would say there is a pretty high chance that I commit to South Carolina in about a month if nothing really changes.
