Linebacker Kendall Moore (Raleigh, N.C./Southeast) has been wanting to cut his list of schools at the beginning of the summer and finally did it this past week. South Carolina was one of the schools Moore has been high on for the longest and he talked with TheBigSpur.com about the seven schools that made the cut. Find out what Moore thinks in this in-depth FREE ARTICLE from TheBigSpur.com.

Moore is one of the best Linebackers in the state of North Carolina and he has cut his list to a top seven schools.

"Yeah I cut it down Friday to a top seven schools but Im still open to other schools that may offer me. Im down to Notre Dame, Florida State, NC State, South Carolina, Clemson, Duke, and Maryland in no order."

Moore talked about the Gamecocks and the reason why they made the list.

"South Carolina is a school that I have been looking at for the longest," said Moore about USC. "South Carolina was my number one school for a long time. I came up for the Tennessee game last year and it was great. It was a night game and the atmosphere was awesome."

(USC defensive line coach) Brad Lawing is Moore's recruiter and Moore talked about him.

"Coach Lawing told me he liked me at the same position as Eric Norwood is playing and I liked that. He called me the last day of the Spring and said that he wanted to be the last person to talk to me during the Spring period. He also came by my school this Spring and left some stuff for me but my coach didnt let me know about it. When I talked with Coach Lawing he told me how he felt about me and that he wanted me to visit this summer. Im going to visit South Carolina this summer but I just need to set it up with Coach Lawing. Im not really interest in camping and Coach Lawing told me I didnt have too. I just want to visit the campus and see the area of Columbia."

Notre Dame: "(Notre Dame Co-Defensive Coordinator) Corwin Brown has done a great job of recruiting me so far. He has been real active with it. He has really formed a great relationship with my head coach and my parents. I also like the direction of the program."

Florida State: "(FSU Associate head coach/LB coach) Chuck Amato has visited with me twice already. He told me they were running short on linebackers and there was a chance for me to play early at Florida State. We have a good relationship."

NC State: "NC State was my first offer and that is special for me. They are only like five minutes away and I like the location of it. I like the coaching staff real well. I think they are heading into the right direction and have brought in some good recruits already."

Clemson: "(Clemson tight end and offensive tackle coach) Danny Pearman and (Clemson RB coach) Andre Powell are a good duo in recruiting me so far from Clemson. I like the system they run on defense. They have a hybrid position on defense that I really like."

Duke: "Academically nobody can get with Duke. Their     program is also moving in the right direction. I also like (Duke WR coach) Scottie Montgomery."

"Next?"
USC recruiter Brad Lawing told Moore he was similar to Carolina All-American candidate Eric Norwood.

Maryland: "(Maryland Linebacker) Demetrius Hartsfield tells me a lot of good things about Maryland. They are giving him a chance to play early and say they would do
the same for me. He tells me that he could really help
me out if I came there. He is pretty much my main
recruiter from there."

Moore went on talk about his plans for the rest of his recruitment.

"Im going to try and visit all of my top seven schools at least once this summer. Then I will go from there and evaluate even further. Im going to Notre Dame on June
26, South Carolina sometime in late July, and Im also visiting Maryland soon. Those are the only visits I got set up right now."

He also talked about when he will make his decision.

"My plan was to go ahead and commit a week or two
before my season and thats what Im going to try and do. After I commit, I will probably still take some other official visits just to make sure I made the right decision."

ESPN/Scouts Inc. gives Moore a grade of 77.
